Meet Dr. Kahen
I am passionate about helping patients feel confident in their smiles through thoughtful, personalized orthodontic care. I enjoy getting to know each patient and creating treatment plans that support not only great results, but a positive experience every step of the way.
As a LA native, I am excited to return home and practice in the community that shaped who I am. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with patients and fellow providers while contributing to a collaborative practice.

Precision
meets patience.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, with deep roots in the community and a warm, loving family that has always been tied to this city. My mom is a teacher and my dad was an architect — from them I inherited two halves of the same instinct.
From my mom, working with kids day after day, I learned what it means to be a caretaker — the steadiness of patience, the quiet power of kindness, the way a calm room can change how a child feels about being there at all. From my dad, I learned precision, creativity, and an obsessive attention to detail — how every line and proportion matters.
Orthodontics, for me, sits in that overlap. It’s a study in proportion, patience, and listening — the slow, precise work of changing the shape of a smile in a way that feels inevitable rather than imposed.

Trained where
rigor is the baseline.
A coast-to-coast path through some of the country’s most demanding programs — each one providing me with a depth of training and range of cases that will enable me to take care of my future patients. Training at Montefiore Medical Center, a hospital-based orthodontic residency, was fast-paced, high-volume, and deeply collaborative. From my attendings, I learned how to handle cases that were referred to us from private orthodontists in the community for complexity. I led communication between orthodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics to get multidisciplinary cases to the finish line. Through these invaluable experiences, I remain humble and hungry; I know I still have much to learn. I seek to be part of a team who values collaboration, community, and life-changing results for our patients. I see myself as a lifelong learner — always open to new techniques, new mentors, and new ways to take better care of patients.

B.A. — Summa Cum Laude
Headed south for undergrad and graduated summa cum laude in sociology — a foundation in how people work, communicate, and trust, which still shapes how I run a chair-side appointment.
D.D.S.
Moved to New York for dental school and graduated at the top of my class in 2023. Four years of rigorous clinical and academic training in one of the country’s leading programs.
Certificate of Orthodontics
Treated 150+ starts and transfer cases across modalities including Invisalign, IPE, twin MBT, LightForce, lingual braces, and self-ligating systems. Partnered with Mount Sinai for cleft and craniofacial care.

Home, in every
sense.
The Pacific in the morning, the hills at golden hour, and time spent with family. Los Angeles isn’t just another city, it isn’t just backdrop for me — it’s family, neighborhood, and a pace I’ve always known. After spending seven years in New York to complete my training, it’s the place I choose to come back to. More than that, it is the community I’m proud to take care of. I look forward to serving the community of LA with the craft and science that I have spent the last several years honing.
